Six Sigma for Your Life is structured as a six week program. Each week covers a different aspect, and each week will go deeper and deeper into the essence of self. The concept for this is based on the major limbs of Yoga, and follows a spiral form from the outside relationships to the innermost self: - Week 1: Relationships - As soon as there is an "I" there is an "Other" and a relationship exists between the two. This first week explores this concept and helps to identify current and desired relationship patterns. The goal is to become aware of any defects within the different relationships, and to create a vision for an improved quality of life.
- Week 2: Habits - What we do every day within these relationships is mostly governed by habits, both habits of action, as well as cognitive habits. This second week serves to identify existing habits, and to facilitate the creation of new habits to begin eliminating defects.
- Week 3: Body - The third section investigates the tool with which we live our habits and relationships, our bodies. It covers the body as a system with inputs and outputs, looks at nutrition, exercise and physical health, as well as at aspects like body language, presence and posture.
- Week 4: Senses - As the spiral continues inward, this forth week will investigate how we use our senses to connect our inner world to our outer world. It examines all five known senses and how they impact the quality of life.
- Week 5: Emotions - Emotions are literally energy in motion, information that is delivered by our senses to our minds and - for our convenience - interpreted based on a heuristic rule system we have established through experience. This week is about becoming aware of these heuristics and how they can be consciously affected.
- Week 6: Mind - Going further and further into the individual's core, we end up with that which is the "I". This last section examines models of the self, left-right brain functioning, frontal lobe vs. reptilian brain thinking, and at how personae and archetypes influence our identities.
Throughout the six weeks, concepts from Six Sigma are applied: Each week follows the DMAIC project model (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) and many tools from the realm of Six Sigma are being repurposed to show quantitative improvements in the areas of life described here. So every Monday, you will receive a Define email, every Tuesday a Measure email, and so on. Thus, altogether, you will go through a DMAIC cycle six times for each of the different subject areas and thus learn powerful tools to reduce stress and improve the Quality of Your Day!
